The first World Congress of Farabi and Islamic Culture and Civilization was conducted for a period of three days, from March 1 to 3, 2023 with the collaboration of the Institute of Cultural and Social Studies and the Permanent Secretariat of the Farabi International Festival.

The First International Congress on Farabi and Islamic Culture and Civilization was organized with the collaboration of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Vice-Chancellor of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Al-Farabi University of Kazakhstan, the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of Kazakhstan, ASRA International Foundation for Revelation Sciences, Art Academy, Research Institute of Islamic Culture and Science, Research Institute of Islamic Culture and Thought, Channel Four Broadcasting Network, High Assembly of Islamic Wisdom, and Research Institute of Iranian Wisdom and Philosophy.
During the congress, speeches were given by professors including Professor Davari Ardakani, Professor Ebrahimi Dinani, Professor Aavani, Professor Abdullah Anwar, Professor Zia Movahed, Professor Parsania, as well as professors from other countries such as Charles Butterworth, Terence Kleven, Mokhdad Arafa Mensia, Nurfer Tercan, Alexander Orwin, and Zahkypbek Altayev.
On the last day, Farabi, an outstanding scholar, was also honored. In this regard, Dr. Reza Davari Ardakani, Abdullah Anwar, Hojjatul Islam Mohsen Mohajernia and Terence J. Kleven were honored. Additionally, the family of the late Ali Reza Sadra received an expression of gratitude.
Prof. Dr. Mohsen Mohajernia, who was born in Andimshek in 1964, began his education in seminary in 1980 and continued to pursue advanced courses until 1988. He completed his master's degree in 1990 with a thesis on "Government in Farabi's Political Thought." In 2001, he began his doctoral studies in political science at Bagher al-Ulum University and later joined the faculty of the Research Institute of Islamic Culture and Thought. He has written several books on topics such as "Political Thought of Muslim Thinkers," "Political Thought of Farabi," and "Government in Farabi's Political Thought," in addition to publishing numerous scientific articles and presenting at prestigious national and international conferences on Farabi Studies.
Professor Dr. Reza Davari Ardakani is a prominent philosopher from Iran, born in Ardakani in June 1933. He was a philosophy professor at Tehran University before retiring and is currently serving as the head of the Iran Academy of Sciences. With over 70 published books and numerous articles and lectures on various philosophical topics, particularly in the areas of philosophical modernity, history of philosophy, culture, and Farabi studies, he has gained worldwide recognition as one of the leading Iranian philosophers. He is considered a prominent figure in the Farabi International Festival and a representative of the Islamic Republic. Dr. Davari has authored several works on Farabi's ideas, including the famous books "Farabi the Founder of Islamic Philosophy" and "Farabi the Philosopher of Culture," in addition to presenting his analysis of Farabi's work in various conferences and collections of articles.
Seyyed Abdullah Anwar is a highly respected Iranian scholar and translator, who has contributed significantly to manuscript studies in his country. Born in Tehran in 1924, he is known for his expertise in mathematics, logic, music, history, philosophy, and cataloging of historical books. He has published hundreds of scientific works, including translations and explanations of important texts such as Ibn Sina's "Shifa", Nasir al-Din al-Tusi's "Isharat", and Ghazali's "Maqasid al-Falasifah". He is recognized as a top scientific figure by the Farabi International Festival, and his correction and explanation of Farabi's "Great Music" is considered one of his enduring legacies. He has also introduced the geometry and mathematics included in the book and explained its musical melodies and instruments. These works will soon be published by Mowla Publications.
Dr. Alireza Sadra was born in 1958 in Dezful and pursued political science studies at Allameh Tabatabai University, earning his master's degree and doctorate in the same field from Tarbiat Modares University. He is well-known for his ideas on "Islamic political wisdom" and "the political model of supreme wisdom." He authored 13 books, published many scientific articles, and participated in several national and international conferences. Dr. Sadra was affiliated with various scientific and executive centers such as the University of Tehran's Political Science Department, several research institutes and councils, and the Islamic-Iranian Model of Progress Center. He was awarded the Tehran University International Festival's award in 2013 for his research on "Farabi Civics." He also served on the scientific committee of the World Congress on Farabi and Islamic Culture and Civilization and was a member of the joint scientific working group of Iran and Kazakhstan in Farabi studies.
The Secretariat of the World Congress of Farabi and Islamic Culture and Civilization deeply mourns the passing of this esteemed teacher and pays tribute to his immense contributions to the field of Farabi studies.
Professor Terence J. Kleven, a highly accomplished scholar, holds a faculty position at Central Iowa College, which is a part of the University of Jordan. His research interests encompass a diverse range of subjects, including Old Testament studies, Greek and Arabic political philosophy, Middle East politics, and Islamic studies. He is a prolific author and has contributed numerous articles and book reviews to various academic journals. Moreover, he has been the recipient of several prestigious research grants from institutions such as the Bradley Foundation, the National Humanities Foundation, and the Fulbright Program.
