Following an official announcement by the Permanent Secretariat of the Farabi International Award (Festival), the submission deadline for the 17th edition—previously set for late September—has been officially extended to October 7, 2026.
According to the Secretariat’s Public Relations office, scholars, researchers, and academicians across the fields of Humanities and Islamic Studies are invited to register and submit their scholarly works. Eligible entries include:
- Authored and translated books
- Comprehensive research project reports
- Doctoral dissertations
- Master’s theses
- Academic research papers

About the Farabi International Award
Launched in 2007 (1386), the Farabi International Award is the preeminent annual academic festival dedicated to the humanities and Islamic sciences in Iran. Organised by its Permanent Secretariat based at the Institute for Social and Cultural Studies (ISCS), the award aims to foster theoretical and applied scholarship in active collaboration with national and international academic centers.
Entries are evaluated across two categories:
- Age Divisions: Junior Scholars (under the age of 35) and Senior Scholars.
- Geographical Scope:
- Domestic Division: Open to all Iranian scholars, regardless of their current country of residence or institutional affiliation.
- International Division: Dedicated to distinguished research and studies conducted by non-Iranian scholars on Iranian culture and Islamic studies.
