30 September 2023Dr. Reza Gholami at Tehran University: Muslims must participate in global changes
Dr. Reza Gholami, head of the Research Institute for Cultural, Social and Civilization Studies, said in a meeting held at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Tehran University with the presence of several Muslim thinkers:I would like to welcome you and thank my colleagues at Tehran University for this opportunity. As you know, in political philosophy, we have a discussion about social benevolence influenced by the thoughts of Abu Nasr Muhammad Farabi and other Muslim thinkers. However, as expected, the discussion of social benevolence has not been theorized in accordance with the needs and issues of the world, and beyond that, it has not been modeled. This theory can also be implemented in international relations. Based on this discussion, militarism, monopolization, non-constructive utilitarianism that has depleted the world community and made it hopeless about the future, will give way to a favorable platform for communication, interaction and synergy based on a new equation called benevolence. In the theory of benevolence, national interests are not ignored or diminished but are placed under the umbrella of benevolence. The theory of benevolence helps to reduce global tensions and multiply development opportunities. It should be noted that all countries today are on a big ship, and without cooperation and interaction, goodwill, they can not survive and overcome challenges.I think Muslims can become more serious players in global governance.I think that the theory of public benevolence in international relations has unique capacities for transformation. And you know that the world order is changing. In this situation, Muslims should not be passive. They should play a key role in the formation of the new world order.I propose to form forums for theorizing about international relations based on public benevolence. It should be noted that in this meeting, the names of the guests were: Dr. Sadiq al-Faqih and Dr. Dr. Zain Al-Abidin Hayat.
