Dr. Reza Gholami, head of the Research Institute of Cultural, Social and Civilization Studies of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, presented a virtual meeting at the cultural representative office of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty and in Tehran at the Islamic Culture and Communication Organization.
Thank you for organizing this meeting. I respect my university colleagues in Kazakhstan. I think this meeting will provide the opportunity to learn more about the capacities of Iran and Kazakhstan in Farabi studies.
You probably know that the Institute of Cultural, Social and Civilization Studies organized the Farabi World Congress in cooperation with some universities earlier this year. Al-Farabi University in Kazakhstan also participated. A number of world famous farabi scholars had articles in this congress.
At the opening of the congress, the Minister of Science of the Islamic Republic of Iran suggested that the second congress be held by Kazakhstan. We are ready to provide all the experiences of the first congress to our colleagues in Kazakhstan.
I agree that we can discuss the issues of the day in Congress from Farabi's point of view.
You know, It is very important to follow the proposal of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution to the respected President of Kazakhstan regarding the establishment of a joint committee on Farabi studies, which was welcomed by the President.
In the Islamic Republic of Iran, our research institute is in charge of following up the scientific affairs of the Joint Committee of Farabi Studies.
In Iran, we have many professors and researchers who have been working in Farabi studies for many years. So far, many books about Farabi's thoughts have been published in Persian language in Iran.
My academic colleagues in Kazakhstan can count on our serious cooperation in the field of Farabi studies. I have some suggestions : We should consider holding Farabi World Congress as our first priority. In the next step, the creation of an educational chair at the PHD level in al-Farabi studies with various branches, as well as the compilation of a thematic encyclopedia, can be included in our joint program.
Of course, I don't know how much my colleagues in Kazakhstan are willing to invest in this field?
I think instead of cooperating on many points, we should focus on a few points. That you want to hold a conference is good news. If the topics and issues of the conference are decided, we are ready to submit good scientific articles to the conference. If you send us the draft of the conference topics and issues, we can send our suggestions. We can even identify the topics and issues of the 3 conferences with a long-term perspective. Of course, I emphasize that the experience of the Farabi World Congress, which was held at the beginning of this year, should be used.
We agree with your proposed topic under the title of benevolent human being in Farabi's legacy and benevolent society. Of course, your suggested time, which is the end of November, is insufficient for Iranian professors to write the article. Therefore, I suggest to receive abstracts of articles from at least 5 prominent professors and to present the best abstracts in the form of a speech at the conference. My request is that the official poster of the conference be published as soon as possible.
