The First Conference on "Virtuous man in the heritage of Al-Farabi, virtuous society and modern ethics"

According to the public relations office of the Institute for Cultural, Social and Civilization Studies affiliated with the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the first conference on "Virtuous man in the heritage of Al-Farabi, virtuous society and modern ethics", was held in Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on Tuesday, 24th of October, 2023.The conference had been designed by the scientific secretariat of Iran-Kazakh common committee on Farabi Studies, stationed in the Iranian Institute for Cultural, Social and Civilization Studies and at the initiative of Iran’s cultural attaché to Almaty of Kazakhstan.
This conference was attended by 6 Iranian professors including Dr. Gholamreza Aavani,a distinguished Iranian philosopher,Dr. Reza Gholami,director of the Institute for Cultural, Social and Civilization Studies,Dr. Abolhassan Khalaj Monfared, director-general for academic cooperation of Islamic Culture and Communication Organization,Dr. Seyyed Javad Jalali, a scholar of orientalism,Dr. Reza Mahuzi & Dr. Masoud Omid,scholars of philosophy.
Before the conference, the Iranian delegate visited the al-Farabi Permanent Museum, the library and center for Farabi research in Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and then the exhibition on Iranian studies set up by Iran’s cultural attaché to Almaty of Kazakhstan.Iran’s consul general in Almaty, Mr. Mohsen Faghani was attending the conference as a member of the board of directors. Welcoming the attendees and congratulating the Kazakh nation on their republic Day, the consul general pointed to Iran’s supreme leader’s recommendation on establishing Iran-Kazakhstan joint committee on Farabi Studies, stating that this conference is the first output of this committee. Then, the dean of the faculty of history in al-Farabi University as the scientific secretary of the conference welcomed the Iranian delegation and explained the goals of the conference. He expressed pleasure for initiation of Iran-Kazakhstan academic cooperation on Farabi studies.
